FREEDOM THROUGH CHRIST by Camilla Luyai

He wasn't crucified on a fancy cross
That old raggedy wooden cross wasn't even befitting to hold a carpenter's son
His body bore a burden, a portion twice his size
But there He hung
Held on by His love for us
By His love for all
A sword pierced through His sides
He felt every nail, every whiplash, every ribcrack
Humiliated and stripped,His robes confiscated
But He swallowed the pain and anguish
He took on stripes for our black, black sins
All that red from bleeding
Turned Him white on the cross
But that was just Him
Crossing us from darkness into light
No zebra crossing could ever
Its the audacity for me!
See, for 72 hours He laid in that tomb
For 72 hours the earth felt His doom
But He did not stay there
His strength did not fade there
His love did not end there
His peace was displayed there
His power was felt there
There was no bones decayed there
72 hours and He left an empty tomb
And ate death up like barbecue
Showed up on the gates of hell and was like."knock knock, guess who's here"
Sent to hell the keys of hell
Now my saviour is alive and well
In His presence forever I will dwell
It doesn't matter the age, gender, race or net worth
Only that you and I have been made free
Freedom through Christ indeed!
