The desire of every person is to become better each day through maximizing their potential. This however, doesn’t just happen without pursuing and unlocking the potential within us. Apparently, most people don’t know that becoming your best self is part attitude and part strategy.

Attitude comes from within and it constitutes, in this context, a positive or negative feeling or way of thinking of your potential. Having a positive attitude in the potential means radiating the right energy in the pursuit of the same.

Strategizing on how to pursue and unlock our potential is the other most effective way and it constitutes basing it on a solid foundation. Therefore, as Christians, it’s non-negotiable, that we need to strategize every move from a Biblical perspective. We need to attribute everything to ‘Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we can ask or think according to the power at work with us”. (Ephesians 3:20).

Below are the questions and steps we need to put forward in order to unlock our potential

1: What are the most important goals that you want to accomplish in future, before you die?

In pursuing you potential, you need goals, we have to know these goals and write them down for reference simply because human mind is prone to forgetting. Once you figure out what these goals are, pursue them with every ounce you’ve got because life is too precious for regrets.

2: If you would write a letter to the five-year-back version of yourself how would it look like?

This question is to the assumption that you live in the future and you are looking back at where you are from. Is this version (future) any different from now? Is there any progress in achieving the goals that you set back then? Have you already accomplished or started achieving some of them? or not. If the answer that you have is positive, then know that the goals are realistic and put enough energy that’s needed to achieving them.

3: Know things that make you happy and fulfilled.

These will help you achieve your potential and we need to build a schedule around them in order to have a happier experience. On the contrary, you must avoid all the distracters, which are merely short-term obstacles.

4: Be in control of your own thoughts not at the mercy of them.

Live in your own realities influenced by your thoughts, beliefs and ideas. If our thoughts are negative and nasty, do not expect to have a positive and pleasant life. For a Christian, It’s more than positive thinking; it’s a godly attitude which involves God-centered, Bible-based thinking and viewing everything from God’s perspective. In addition to that, you should not be conformed today’s culture in pursuing your potential, push against it seeking to be transformed into Christ’s image.

5: What are the types of strengths you used to achieve your recent success and how often did we use them.

These types of strengths are the stepping stones to your next achievements and you should put them into consideration in unlocking your potential. You should also learn from your past failures in order to avoid any track that’s not beneficial at all.

6: Choose the right company

Everyone is the average of the people that he/she keeps company with, thus , the kind of friends that we keep have a greater influence in pursuing our potential. This however, doesn’t mean that we should judge people as unrighteous simply because we don’t get along with them. We have an obligation of changing their habits and characters in order to assist them achieve their fullest potential likewise. We do not have to seclude them but instead assist them to be great people as the Bible says “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3).

7: Be positive in everything that you do.

When you wake up, you have the choice on whether or not we’re going to focus on the positive. You need, each day, to know the importance of where you direct your focus and through this, you eliminate a lot of energy loss, worry, stress and anxiety by focusing on the positive. The word of God tells us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13)

8: Have a mindset development routine

This involves reading of books,, exercising and spending time in solitude at times in order to review the progress and most importantly consider our relationship with Almighty God.

9; Eat clean and healthy and exercise your body in order to improve the bodies’ activities and to stimulate your thinking towards pursuing your potential. Exercising the body stimulates thinking capacity and also approach to certain circumstances which may be a threat to achieving your full potential.

10: you need to believe in yourself that there’s nothing impossible with God . Believe that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you and never look down on yourself as insignificant because according to the Bible in 1 Peter 2:9″ But you are a chosen people a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”
