INQUIRING OF THE LORD By: Josiah Wambua

Krrrrr………krrrrrr (phone ringing) Caller: “Hello” Receiver: “Yes, hello bro Dennis… how have you been?” Caller: “Am well in the Lord. Do you still inquire of the Lord? Do you remember the sermon you shared with us in Mbaani?” Receiver: “Eh…. Yes. I remember…” And that was the wake-up call that sent me thinking. In a flash I remembered the sermon I had passionately shared in a mission ground. I did not expect anyone to call a year later and remind me about it. But did I preach water and soon after become......

ARE WE FAILING OUR NEXT GENERATION? By Grace Kianira

Sunday school. I am sure you have heard of that word over and over again. What comes to your mind when you hear it? Let me guess, of course you picture kids in a church setting , playing together and reciting bible memory verses, or singing those usual Sunday school choruses . As a Christian how do you perceive children? When I say perceive, I mean in terms of their comprehension of the gospel and their involvement in the body of Christ. Some of us view these young ones as too young......

A HELPING HAND? By Mwania Mutungi

As I was walking to town to get myself some lunch some day in town, I met an elderly man who tried to stop me. “Kijana, ebu simama kidogo” (Young man, can you spare me a moment?) Immediately, thoughts were racing in my mind. “What does this man want from me? Is he going to ask for money, fare, Lunch…? What now does he want from me?” I am not offering any present for correctly guessing what I did. You are right. I went past him as if it were none of......

WHO AM I? By James Serengia

If there is a crucial question an average person has never really answered, is the question “who am I?” Statistics have it that billions of people around the world go through life without knowing who they really are. The few who tries to confront the question occasionally use the wrong approach, missing the whole point. We talk of a tragedy!? This is a tragedy and a crisis combined! “Well, who am I then?” No doubt this question is bombarding you mind. Probably you’re asking yourself, “Am I what I do: a security......

CAMPUS

Walking Along the pavements Past the beautiful lawns Well-tended flower gardens An indispensable effort Of the custodians of our environment Thinking Not, maybe a diversity of thoughts in my mind Observing Observation, the skill of an intellectual. 2. A wave, a passing storm on dry land The noise, of high heeled and flat heeled shoes Pounding perfectly on the ground Young lads and gents, scholars Eyes fixed to their destinations Hoping the lecture halls are not packed to capacity Minds thirsty of knowledge Yearning To quench their brains From the fountain of......

Till I entered the sanctuary of God… By Issa Gachanja

My first day in MCCU was during orientation 2012. I was a time bomb waiting to explode. New in campus, excited for the city and raw from the village, perfect ingredients to take on anything. But it was until I entered the sanctuary of God that I understood several things that have shaped my life through campus. It was until I met MCCU that I understood what it meant not only to be a man but to be a CALEB, because as I will submit it later, man is for under the......

INTEGRITY REINFORCED . ‘I ain’t compromising ‘ By Leshan Ole Saika

The journey of integrity reinforced dates back to 2010. Probably you have heard about the Commission Conference organized by FOCUS (Fellowship of Christian Unions). If you have never attended one, then make a point of attending the next one, it is a life transforming experience. I had purposed to attend Commission 2010 which I did after raising the registration fee from a few friends and family members. I know you are wondering how much this registration fee was, to the point of that involving friends and family members. Well, it wasn’t more......

Who Is To Blame for The World’s Problems? By James Muimi

Sometimes I sit down and wonder at the kind of evil that has befallen the world. As I walk along the streets of different towns and cities in our country, I make sure that I am super observant. I question everything I see and relate it with what is recorded in the books of history. (Books of history here include even the historical books of the Holy Bible written by Moses). What I have seen in the today’s society is quite different from what an ideal society’s expectations . In simpler terms......
